Open the chat from your own button

Turn any link or button on your site into "Chat with us", without writing a script.

Add data-flagbell-open to a link or button, and a click opens the chat instead:

<a href="mailto:hello@yourbrand.com" data-flagbell-open>Chat with us</a>

Keep a mailto: link as the href. Until the widget has loaded, or when scripts are off, the link simply opens the visitor's mail program. Once the widget is there, it catches the click and opens the chat.

This needs no script of your own, so it also works on sites with a strict Content Security Policy. A Ctrl- or Cmd-click still follows the link.

If you'd rather open the chat from a script, call:

Flagbell.open();

The help centre does the same: "Chat with us" under every article opens the chat, with your brand's address next to it.
